PURCHASING TICKETS
First things first.
As with any other star-studded event, the safest method of purchasing tickets is directly from the Players Championship website( pgatour. com / tournaments / the-players-championship. html). This will give buyers peace of mind knowing the tickets will not only be delivered on time, but also that they will be as authentic as it gets.
Daily passes range from $ 20 –$ 70, and the full-week package is $ 270. Passes to the Greenside Lounge($ 325) and The Turn($ 550) are more expensive, but they also provide a more in-depth experience unlike any other during the tournament. Family packages can be purchased as a slight discount, and current and past military members can receive tickets free of charge in advance.
Looking to save a few bucks on the secondary market is another option. Sites such as stubhub. com are credible, although fluctuation in costs can also be a gamble.
Whichever route you take with those, it is wise to do your homework. Parking is not included with several of the ticket options( both the PGA and Stubhub are currently selling those separately). Having a plan of action will only increase your chances of making the most of your on-site experience, especially if you have those tickets locked down early and can focus on other parts of the week.
WHERE TO STAY
If there is a built-in luxury to a PGA event, it is that most people who are buying tickets aren’ t coming and going to and from TPC Sawgrass throughout the day. That being the case, and with the number of trips from the hotel to the course and back at a minimum, it widens the range where visitors can look for lodging.
