VSGA TEAM SET FOR VIRGINIAWEST VIRGINIA MATCHES
The VSGA championship season officially
starts on April 19 with a Four-Ball Stroke

The Virginia-West Virginia Matches

the West Virginia Golf Association squad
and has won the last six meetings.
VSGA president Bruce Matson (Hermitage CC) will captain the squad, which
features regulars Buck Brittain (Fincastle

NEW CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR 2016
The 2016 VSGA championship schedule
features two new events: The Mid-Senior
Amateur Championship and the Women’s
Four-Ball Championship.
The Mid-Senior Amateur, which is for
players aged 60-64, will be held July 6-9
at Spring Creek Golf Club in Gordonsville
in conjunction with the Super Senior
Amateur Championship. Like the Super
Senior Amateur, the Mid-Senior is a fourday event featuring two days of stroke-play
qualifying and two days of match play.
The Women’s Four-Ball event has existed
in the past in net and gross form, but it was
elevated to a championship for 2016. The
one-day championship will be held June 27
at Fredericksburg Country Club, the same
site that will be used for USGA U.S. Women’s
Amateur Four-Ball qualifying in August.
