Kennemer Golf & Country Club | NOORD-HOLLAND Located just east of the seaside town of Zandvoort— known more for hosting the Dutch Grand Prix for many years— Kennemer announces itself from the start, its thatched-roof clubhouse sitting proudly, overlooking the undulating links of the golf course. Harry Colt designed the original 18-hole layout, with Frank Pennink adding nine new holes in 1985. The 27-hole layout is divided into A, B, and C loops, all featuring lovely undulating fairways, dunes, gorse, and the occasional pine tree. Kennemer is a classic links course with plenty of history— Seve Ballesteros won his first pro tournament here in 1976, and Jose Maria Olazabal won the Dutch Open here 13 years later.
Koninklijke Haagsche Golf & Country Club
Eindhovensche Golf | NOORD-BRABANT Just south of Eindhoven— home of the famous PSV football club— Eindhovensche is another Harry Colt design and the brainchild of Dr. Philips, the brother of the founder of the Philips Electrical Company, which is based in Eindhoven. Colt was tasked with routing two distinct loops through dense forest, though the trees aren’ t the only hazard. The course features streams, ponds, and enough strategically placed bunkers to challenge any level of player. Most recently, the club hosted the Dutch Ladies Open in the late 2000s.
Noordwijkse Golf Club | ZUID-HOLLAND Dropped among the dunes in the North Sea seaside town of Noordwijkse, the original layout opened in 1915 but is now occupied by a housing estate. The revived links opened in the early 1970s, once again set among the dunes. Noordwijkse member Paul de Jong was responsible for routing the updated layout, shaping a classic course through undulating linksland, with each hole winding its way through sandhills before taking a few unexpected turns through dense pine forest. The club has hosted nine Dutch Opens, with Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, and Colin Montgomerie among its famous winners.
