HOW TO PLAY IT
Off the tee, players often aim at the fairway bunker at the corner of the dogleg. Longer players can take advantage of a speed slot left of this line, which leaves a significantly shorter approach if able to avoid the new fairway bunkers. Misses to the right will leave a much longer and more difficult approach to the green. From the fairway, players are faced with a severe uphill shot and usually require at least one extra club. It is imperative to carry the ball to the middle of the green, as short shots will roll off and back down a steep slope in the fairway. The 18th green tilts severely back-to-front and right-to-left and is a challenge for all golfers no matter their handicap. Putts from longer than 10 feet require careful consideration and must perfectly account for both line and speed. The 18th at Farmington is an exceptional finishing hole that tests every golfer.
Players will usually take an extra club on approach, as any shot that comes up short will likely roll back down to the fairway.
