When you play golf in the summer in Virginia , you may feel the need to drink your body weight in water ( or maybe other libations ) to stay hydrated . For those who are looking for a place to escape the heat , haze and humidity , it ’ s hard to argue with New England . In all likelihood , you ’ re going to have trouble securing a tee time at this year ’ s U . S . Open venue , The Country Club , in Brookline , Massachusetts , so here are a few other options depending how far you decide to venture .
