FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2019 , the VSGA- VIP Scholarship Foundation honored its award winners in person at VSGA Day , held in late May at Richmond Country Club . After two years of pandemic forced cancelations , being able to celebrate the accomplishments of some of Virginia ’ s top scholars with an interest in golf was a welcome experience . Funding for VSGA-VIP Scholarship Foundation awards are generated primarily through the sale of the VSGA VIP Golf Card . The Foundation provides grants and gifts for scholarships , scientific and educational research , and other charitable purposes .
“ This year ’ s class of scholarship applicants and our ultimate award recipients showcased outstanding scholastic and community

accomplishments , particularly under the challenging academic circumstances of the past few years ,” said Foundation president Joan Gardner . “ We at the VSGA-VIP Scholarship Foundation are pleased to reward their hard work , and to play a part in encouraging the pursuit of their dreams .”

EMILY HAMP - Waynesboro HS Was the recipient of a $ 10,000 Spencer- Wilkinson Award . She will attend Brown University in the fall and was top of the class at her high school with a 4.70 GPA .
JULIE SHIN Brambleton / Independence HS Received the $ 7,500 Richard Smith Award . Shin was the VSGA Junior Girls ’ Golfer of the
