Your Game 3 Keys to a Stable and Mobile Swing Maximize the movement in your swing without losing control | by CARLTON DOVE photography by LAURA DOVE G olf requires us to simultaneously mobilize and stabilize our body at various speeds within a period of only a couple seconds. You want to hit the ball farther, but you don’t want to stray from the fairways and greens. How can you do both? Knowing how mobile to be without sacrificing too much stability can be difficult. You have to know what it looks like and how it feels when you perform the motion with mobility and stability. Awareness will be key to maximizing the movement in your swing. Here are three keys to achieve your goals. GET READY Set up like an athlete and be ready to react. Picture a shortstop just before the crack of the bat or a basketball player on defense at the top of the key. In our Junior Program, we call this the “athletic A” stance.
