On a Mission Lorena Ochoa will play in The American Legends Classic for Mountain Mission Kids in September.
AMERICAN LEGENDS CLASSIC
Eight years ago, The Olde Farm in Bristol hosted the Big 3, a charity tournament featuring Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player that raised more than $ 15 million for Mountain Mission School, the largest single-day charitable total in PGA Tour history.
Now, Olde Farm founder Jim McGlothlin is thinking even bigger.
On Sept. 10, The Olde Farm will host The American Legends Classic for Mountain Mission Kids, a charitable tournament that offers patrons the chance to watch— and even play alongside— 10 iconic sports personalities.
The event’ s all-star roster includes golf greats Nicklaus, Player, Lee Trevino, Betsy King, Tim Finchem, Lanny Wadkins and Lorena Ochoa; retired NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Dan Marino; and retired NBA great Jerry West.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Mountain Mission School in Grundy, an accredited non-profit school that provides stability, shelter, nourishment and a high-quality education for at-risk children from throughout the U. S. and the world.
