“ CapTech was already immersed in the golf industry, having worked extensively with the PGA TOUR, First Tee, and the PGA of America,” says Jon Bradway, principal, sports and media, for the firm.
“ Mike knew we deeply understood data integration, capture, and how to structure it for use,” Bradway said, adding that TGL provided the roadmap for the project, which included design, rule formulation, and advice on gameplay. In addition, they partnered with key technology vendors like AWS for scalability, resilience, and speed.
“ We built, managed, and operated the software part of it from end to end,” he says.“ Full Swing does the golf simulation and provides the hardware.”
ScoreSight by CapTech, the central nervous system for all TGL data, is integral to the data integration platform. It’ s a cloudfirst, real-time data system to serve fans in the arena, as well as those watching on TV and interacting with the league online.“ Consumer response to ScoreSight data has been very positive,” says Bradway.“ It has enabled us to use AI and our intuitive understanding of the data to pull out the stories and get them into the production truck for the broadcast.”

For that, CapTech employed the services of former PGA TOUR player and Georgia Tech industrial engineering grad Roberto Castro. Their first job was addressing rules and formats.
