VSGA to relocate its administrative offices, remain in central Virginia |

not far from its pre-move location.

as the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA
of America) that was located on Forest Hill
Avenue near Willow Oaks Country Club.
“It was 600 square feet max,” says Nichols,
who was hired in 1989. The VSGA then
moved into an office building on Southlake
Boulevard off Midlothian Turnpike not far
from Chesterfield Towne Center in 1990.
David Norman was the executive director
and the space was about 1,000 square feet,
according to Nichols.
While located on Southlake Boulevard,
the VSGA looked into buying a building
for the growing staff and tournament
schedule. Then Independence happened,
and the VSGA relocated there and rented
out approximately 3,400 square feet on the
top floor. Even with more space, the VSGA
still had to store tournament materials and
more in off-site storage.
The executive committee, board and VSGA
staff determined the best way to approach
the future was to explore three options: lease
space, buy an existing building or build a
complex to suit the association’s needs.
