Seeks Additional Name Buy-In Contract to keep LPGA’s elite returning to Williamsburg extended through at least 2017; sponsorship possibilities are the next priority A Almost everything will be the same as a year ago when the LPGA T returns to our Williamsburg for the 2014 Kingsmill Championship, May 15-18. That means, in all likelihood, the appearance of almost all of the top-50 money winners to that point in the season— and a high percentage of the top 100—will vie for the $1.3 million purse. It also means the weather likely will be pleasant and mild, the resort’s River Course will be in superb condition, and the competition will be so intense that a third consecutive suddendeath playoff is a real possibility. Event officials will still be searching for a title sponsor to replace Xanterra Parks & Resorts, which owns Kingsmill and has been serving in that role on an interim basis.
