The 2021-22 wraparound PGA Tour schedule comes with a new wrinkle : A strategic alliance between the PGA Tour and European Tour . In terms of scheduling , the most significant piece of collaboration is the fact that three tournaments will be co-sanctioned in 2022 and therefore count in the standings for both the PGA Tour ’ s FedExCup and the European Tour ’ s Race to Dubai : the Barbasol Championship , the Barracuda Championship , and the Genesis Scottish Open .
As the Tour continues to evolve into a world-wide product , the alliance allows for enhancements of the Scottish Open — the annual lead-in to The Open Championship — and gives European Tour members direct access to two Stateside events .
Another significant change : new venues for the opening two FedExCup playoff events , as TPC Southwind in Memphis and Wilmington Country Club in Delaware provide the build-up to the annual season-ending event at East Lake .
