After more than 100 years , the VSGA ’ s Board of Directors has its first female president

The Virginia State Golf Association ’ s latest milestone is more than 100 years in the making . The association that began as the Virginia State Golf League formed in 1904 . It became the VSGA in 1911 . The first president of the VSGA Board of Directors , W . P . Wood , was elected in 1921 . Wood led the organization for 14 years .

Beck , hangs on the wall in the conference room of the VSGA headquarters in Midlothian . All are men . Until now . At the 2021 annual meeting , Anne Greever became the VSGA ’ s first woman president .
“ I am tremendously honored , and it will be delightful to see a woman ’ s face in the photo gallery of VSGA presidents ,” Greever said . “ Being the first woman president is significant because it demonstrates the great progress the VSGA has made in extending its services
