Stretching Out of the Box
Stories of renewal from across the Diocese
Emily Cherry
For this issue of the Virginia
Episcopalian, we set out to find
stories to energize and inspire you,
and to equip you to look at how you
“do” church in new ways. Our goal
throughout this magazine is to put
on our thinking caps and look for
creative examples of how churches
are discovering innovative solutions
to increasingly common problems,
from budget woes to building
maintenance.
In the next few pages, you’ll
find a sampling of what we call
“Stretch Stories.” These are
stories of churches that have tried
something new, thought outside
of the box, engaged with their
communities and enhanced their
ministries. We know you’ll find
some inspiration.
