On Sunday many of the attendees hooked up and
headed home, with some having come from as far afield
as Adelaide with long road trips ahead of them.
A few of us lingered a bit longer for another cozy
session by the fire to reflect on what an awesome
weekend we all had.
After my epic journey from Queensland I decided
to stay an extra night after everyone had gone home
before hitting the road again for Melbourne. On Monday
Max took me for spin in his hot rod and we went and
visited a cool retro shop called in nearby Stawell then
popped in to see hot rodders Bill and Dot who I had
met a few years prior when they won the Best Car and
Caravan Combination at the Maidenwell Independence
Day event in Queensland with their hot rod and teardrop
caravan. Dot took me for a cruise around the town in her
hot rod and she showed me all the sights and I have to
say I am a little bit in love with Victoria! That night Jenny
cooked me up lovely roast dinner and Max wrote me a
list of contacts he knew that he assured me would look
after me on my journey home. What a sweetie!
The cruise into Melbourne was gorgeous; the
countryside so lush and green with fields and fields of
luminescent golden yellow canola in full bloom. I passed
through gorgeous little country towns with their historical
old wooden cottages and daffodils and jonquils in the
garden and fruit trees filled with blossoms. Heaven!
Thank you Max and Jenny for a wonderful weekend.
I will be back one day for sure! VCM
