There are many places to venture during the holidays.
Some take a beach getaway to escape the cold and dreary
winter. Others head to the mountains to enjoy the powdery
snow and warm up next to a cozy fire. But for those who
want to experience holiday magic, there is only one place
to go: New York City. Whether it’s your first time visiting
the Big Apple or you’re returning for the hundredth time,
here is the essential must-see list while spending the
holidays in the city.
Your first stop should be the most important, the 9/11
Memorial. Take time to pay homage to the innocent
people and heroes who lost their lives. After, head to the
biggest and always impressive Christmas tree display at
Rockefeller Center. From there, take a selfie on top of the
Empire State Building (early morning or mid-afternoon
is best), stroll down 5th Avenue and along Macy’s for
spectacular window-shopping displays, and dance on the
keys of the FAO Schwartz piano. Lastly, catch the famous
Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes,
New York City Ballet’s The Nutcracker, and if you can
squeeze in a Broadway show, you won’t regret it. Just
make sure to purchase your tickets the moment you book
your trip, as the shows tend to sell out days in advance.
This list isn’t even a full piece of the holiday pie. Luckily
for you, we narrowed down our best tips on where to stay,
where to go, and what to do so you can spend more time
experiencing your holiday escape instead of planning it.
