Stepping into the role of St . Ursula Villa Principal on July 1 , 2021 , Ms . Julie Scherer was selected from a pool of 25 qualified applicants based on her outstanding academic experience and extensive knowledge of curriculum development and instructional methods . She has a solid background as a talented teacher with a student-centered approach to classroom instruction and strong interpersonal skills . In addition to being ideally suited to focus on student academics , curriculum assessment , and teacher coaching , Ms . Scherer and her two sisters are all graduates of St . Ursula Villa .
Ms . Julie Scherer Ms . Scherer holds a Bachelor of Science in Middle
Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Arts in Education Leadership and Policy from the University of Michigan . She served as principal of St . Catherine of Siena in Ft . Thomas , KY for the last three years and previously taught 5 th grade in the Diocese of Toledo .
As Principal , Ms . Scherer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Main School , overseeing the academic programs including curriculum implementation and assessment , monitoring student achievement , intervention services , and enrichment programs . The Principal will support and mentor teachers and supervise Main School teachers and staff . She explains , “ I plan to facilitate teacher-based teams where teachers will exchange ideas and learn from each other . Through intentional collaboration between teachers and alignment of curriculum across Traditional Kindergarten through Junior High grade levels , we will better serve our students ’ educational needs and positively impact student achievement .”

Ms . Lisa Wolfer served as St . Ursula Villa Interim Assistant Principal for the 2020-21 school year and as Director of Early Childhood for the last six years and will continue in that role as part of the Academic Leadership Team . She taught in St . Ursula Villa ’ s Kindergarten and 6 th grades for nine years prior to becoming Director of Early Childhood and has a deep passion and commitment to the Villa . Ms . Wolfer describes , “ It is important to have a Director of Early Childhood to help students and parents transition to our programs . Often this is their first ‘ school ’ experience , and I can be a valuable resource as they navigate this new world of routines and expectations .

culmination of our Early Childhood program , it is important to ensure that they make a successful transition to our Main School and are prepared and ready to take that next step in their educational journey .”
As Director of Early Childhood , Ms . Wolfer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Manor House and its Toddler , Traditional Preschool , and Montessori programs . She will oversee academic programs , intervention services , enrichment programs , licensure requirements , and mentoring of the faculty . In addition to these duties , the Director of Early Childhood will also oversee the aftercare and summer camp programs .

Villa parents and faculty are invited to meet Mr . Halaby , Ms . Scherer , and Ms . Wolfer at a “ Meet the New Academic Leadership Team ” introductory event in August as St . Ursula Villa launches the 2021-22 school year .
