Academy and St . Ursula Villa .
In remarks at the ceremony , Villa President Kent Halaby affirmed St . Ursula Villa ’ s relationship with the Ursuline Sisters stating , “ This evening ’ s important event and official proceedings are about canon law and necessary dealings related to the law , but know that in our hearts , nothing has changed . The Villa cherishes and lives its Ursuline charism and holds the Ursuline Sisters in the same close , treasured role as always . Our school exists because of their vision , dedication , and love and we will strive to be humble stewards of all that has been entrusted to us and to carry on their mission as a school in the Ursuline tradition .”
To commemorate this transformation , St . Ursula Villa will dedicate and name the Manor House Chapel in honor of the Ursulines of Cincinnati , a space where the Sisters prayed and worshipped when they arrived to live at the Manor House in 1960 . According to Sr . Margie , “ Naming the chapel in honor of the Sisters pays tribute to the importance of prayer and faith formation in all of our lives . Seeing the space now used for school class Masses , prayer services , and worship is truly aweinspiring .”
St . Ursula Villa Board of Trustees Chair Jody Sedler states , “ St . Ursula Villa is deeply grateful to the Ursuline Sisters of Cincinnati who founded Saint Ursula Academy in 1910 and established St . Ursula Villa in 1960 . The sacrifice , dedication , prayers , and devotion given to our school and its students over the past 110 years is truly remarkable . The Sisters have built a strong and solid foundation for St . Ursula Villa and with their continued prayers and moral support , we are confident that the Villa will grow and thrive in the Catholic and Ursuline tradition for many years to come .”
