FACULTY NOTES
( Retirees cont . from page 22 )
Ms . Angie Meisman ’ s
18-year tenure at the Villa encompassed many roles , including classroom assistant in Manor House Montessori and Traditional preschool programs , parttime preschool Art teacher and Art assistant , 1 st grade Instructional Assistant , and After Care staff . She says , “ I really enjoyed teaching Art , and 1 st grade was very special ! I loved the many classroom traditions of the children baking pumpkin pies and parents volunteering to help make paper mache snowmen .”
Ms . Meisman ’ s favorite Villa memory is when teachers and students surprised her with a gift from The Karen Wellington Foundation for LIVING with Breast Cancer , saying “ Teachers filled the hallway for a ‘ meeting ’ and gave me such a big surprise – I had no idea it was coming !” She was very touched and amused to learn the lengths to which Ms . Beth Hake and co-workers went to nominate her for the gift which resulted in a very special girls ’ family trip to Florida in 2018 . She states , “ I ’ ve been through so much while working here – losing my dad , losing my husband , being diagnosed with cancer , then losing my mother . Everyone has been so good to me . I have been grateful for the support of my wonderful co-workers and this strong spirit of community . I will definitely miss them !”
Upon retiring , Ms . Meisman plans to spend time with her grandchildren and “ find a niche ” volunteering at St . Vincent de Paul or SEM Food Pantry . She is also being actively – and only partly in jest – recruited by several Primary teachers to return and volunteer in their classrooms .

The Villa Community Mourns the Loss of a Beloved Teacher
Jeanne ( Steinert ) Naugle passed away peacefully at Hospice of Southwest Ohio on September 24 , 2020 at the age of 84 . From 1986 – 2005 , Ms . Naugle was a cherished member of the St . Ursula Villa community and shared her great love , joy , and humor with countless children in the Villa ’ s Traditional 3-year-old Preschool program .
Ms . Naugle grew up and lived her very full life in Cincinnati , raising four children and devoting her life to Early Childhood Education . She spent her retirement traveling and enjoying her nine grandchildren and many nieces , nephews , and dear friends . Ms . Naugle ’ s obituary shared , “ Jeanne ' s advice to live by : you always look better wearing black , big hair is more fun , and if your kids want to dig in the mud with your silver spoons , let them do it !” Ms . Naugle is dearly missed , and we remember her and her family in our prayers .
