Looking back on the past two years as board chair , I am reminded of St . Angela Merici ’ s quote : “ If you all stand united in heart , you will be strong in adversities .” St . Ursula Villa , like all schools , has recently faced many challenges and we successfully navigated through these difficulties because of our strong community . The Board of Trustees , administration , faculty and staff , parents , and students have all worked together , united in heart , to continue to provide an outstanding Ursuline educational experience .
First , I would like to express thanks to our administration and faculty and staff – our frontline heroes – who provided a safe environment for our students to learn and grow . Next , I would like to express gratitude to our Board of Trustees for volunteering many , many hours sharing their time and expertise as St . Ursula Villa navigated through many changes . Finally , the success of the past two years would not be possible without the Villa students and parents who adapted to changes in policies and procedures and supported the community in so many ways . Thank you , Villa families !
Looking ahead , our school community is in excellent hands as Jessica Metzger Vaughan transitions as our incoming Board Chair . As Vice Chair , Jessica has led many initiatives including chairing the Administrative Structure Ad Hoc Committee and overseeing the transition to a President . I am also pleased to welcome the following current parents as new Board members : Chang Cho , who brings his expertise in the banking industry and is a veteran member of the Finance committee ; Zorya Kluska , who has most recently served as Villa Girls ’ Soccer Coordinator and brings a wealth of knowledge in data and analytics ; and Amy Stout , who has served on the Ursuline Identity Committee and has led many service-learning initiatives at the Villa .
We also bid a fond farewell to Matt Iacobucci and Suzy Dorward . Matt served as Board Chair from 2017-2019 and has spent many years leading the Finance Committee . Suzy shared her many talents in resource development and most recently served as the Chair of the Marketing Committee . We are deeply grateful to both for the countless hours and incredible dedication they devoted to St . Ursula Villa .
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the administration , faculty , and students , I thank each of you who have shared your gifts of time , talent , and treasure with St . Ursula Villa . United in heart , the Villa community will continue to provide an outstanding Ursuline educational experience , one that will always have a special place in my heart .
