Taizé Service
Sunday, 3rd November
5.00pm - 5.45pm
St. Mary's Church
Old Alresford
The style of worship comes
from the community of
Taizé in France and is
simple but moving, based
on the repetition of sung
chants with readings and
prayers.
We are not a regular choir practising and
singing week by week. We are simply a small
group of singers who come together to
contribute to St. Mary's Carol Service.
The group has consisted of men and women,
and occasionally a few youngsters.
We are a mixed age and ability group.
Some can’t read music, some don’t live in
Old Alresford and many don’t attend St.
Mary’s Church. Most people have many other interests in life, so we
have just 5 practices in preparation.
The common factor is that we all ENJOY SINGING.
If you like singing Christmas Carols, how about joining the St. Mary’s
Singers in preparation for the Carol Service in St. Mary’s Church on
Sunday 22nd December at 5.00pm?
The practices are in St. Mary's church, Old Alresford:
Sundays, 17, 24 November & 1, 8 December from 5.00 - 6.00pm
Sunday, 15 December from 6.00 - 7.00pm
As we only have 5 practices, singers must be able to commit
themselves to at least 3 of the practices, including the final one on
15 December.
Please contact Gail Straker for more information or if you would like
to join. [TEL 732438 EMAIL: [email protected]]
