There was so much for the children to enjoy from toys galore, the "must have" tattoo in Children's World, the fairground rides and Juggling Jake's continuous entertainment, for which we received very generous sponsorship. Our brilliant MC's introduction of "Nellie the Fairy Elephant" brought smiles to all our faces as we watched the children parade their gorgeous fancy dress costumes; 4-year old Lilly had decided elephant ears with a fairy costume created the cool look she was after. Liz treated me to a ride on one of the Goldwing bikes; my bike won! I was useless on the coconut shy; they just don't grow them big enough anymore so a rule change came into play; we only had to hit 3 rather than knock them off the stands - still failed. Evans came up trumps with particularly good sausages this year, but I think it was just as likely to be Bob, our cordon bleu chef - he of marquee fame, whom all the committee hold in awe.
