FETE
A warm sunny evening brought record
numbers, over 70, to our pre-fete party.
Bunting round the marquees and Nigel's
excellent hand-built Hawaiian bar set the
scene for us all to enjoy the glorious
views of this marvellous venue. Thank
you once again to the McCowen family.
Forty orders of fish and chips saved
some of us cooking whilst others brought
their picnics and the children enjoyed
running wild in the countryside. We were
ready to party late into the night after
enjoying a lovely fire and some great music
but we thought better of that idea
remembering that there was a fete to run.
Fete day, and another brilliant turnout made
us realise that complete exhaustion is worth
all the effort that goes into organising the
Fete. People came from far and wide
including one lady who had walked over
2000 miles (she was on a pilgrimage round
Europe) to find herself at Bighton's "Biggest
Little Fete in Hampshire" eating one of
Sally's fabulous oat biscuits. Roy and
Christine's Bonsai and Pottery stall is unique
to our fete and it never fails to impress year
after year; it looks gorgeous and they
generously donate all their takings. I

price; it wasn't the plant or the lovely pot for
