OLD ALRESFORD NEWS CHRISTY HALL CENTENARY The Hall was opened on 28 December 1912. The Hall Committee is organising a suitable celebration for 19 January next. More details later. OA PARISH COUNCIL Clerk to the Onslow Almshouses Trustees After 10 years of excellent service as Clerk, Jane Culmer is retiring from the post. The Trustees (aka the Parish Council) are very happy that our highly efficient Parish Clerk, Bobbie Smith, has agreed to replace Jane. (Bobbie’s predecessor as Parish Clerk did both jobs). Defibrillater The Parish Council is considering the purchase of a defibrillator to be housed in the phone box. It would cost £1750 plus an ongoing annual cost of £50. It would be vandalproof and volunteers would be trained in its use. The Parish Council would like to have comment from parishioners and, more importantly, to know if parishioners would be prepared to help with purchase costs since the Parish Council does not have the funds to meet the entire cost. Please let us know.
