FROM STEVE BRINE MP In the bleak midwinter we may be but (as I write this at least) the frosty wind has yet to make moan. Nonetheless, Christmas is upon us again and while the reason for the season is sadly not the same for everyone these days, I hope the season of goodwill is and have no doubt our big society locally will continue to look out for those less fortunate than ourselves. Parliament doesn’t rise for the festive break until much later in December so it’s full steam ahead and, for me, that involves renewed work on the future of legal aid (with some tough questions for Ministers), raising the issue of summer-born children and school entry, pressing on with my breast cancer work, challenging the Lord Chancellor over future i
