Behind the Scenes
Where Passion Blossomed
In October 2023 , OMS invited me to participate in the Village Church Planting supervisors ’ meetings in Nairobi , Kenya . Despite my worldwide travels , I had never trekked to the African continent . I was eager to experience another country and culture , but honestly , my excitement about the trip ended there . I thought I already knew all that OMS was accomplishing across Africa . I couldn ’ t have been more wrong — I was in for a wonderful surprise !
Those 10 days were truly life changing . I certainly knew that our God is a God who loves the nations , but my appreciation for our African brothers and sisters grew exponentially . I also gained a deeper understanding of the continent ’ s vastness . Moreover , hearing firsthand accounts of God ’ s work opened my eyes to the reality that our goal to see a church in every African village by 2050 is not far-fetched . In fact , it ’ s within reach !
The bottom line is this : this brief trip ignited my passion for the African nations like never before . Thank you , OMS , for allowing me to see a bit more of our inspiring mission . My hope is that through this issue of OMS Outreach , your passion for Africa will blossom as well .
