a church or Christian presence . Many of these communities live in remote , isolated locations , far from the reach of urban centers . Without a clear map of where these villages are , it ’ s impossible to develop an effective strategy to reach them with the Gospel .
Reaching every person in every place requires not only the willingness to go but also a clear understanding of where to go . Collaborative efforts between mission organizations are producing detailed maps that show exactly where the Gospel needs to go next .
Two years ago , OMS and four other global mission organizations worked together to map every village in Togo . All organizational data was uploaded to the iShare map . Villages with churches were marked “ green .” A survey of the remaining villages revealed 4,976 “ green ” villages , 722 “ yellow ” villages ( villages with Christians but no churches ), and 5,292 “ red ” villages ( villages with no church and no Christians ).
Thanks to this teamwork , the national denominational partners hold an actionable map of Togo in their hands . Now , the hard work of planting a church in every “ red and yellow ” village has begun — with precision and without duplication . In a national meeting in May 2024 , the major national denominational partners prayed
together and proclaimed their goal : to establish a church in every village in Togo within five to seven years ! If we achieve this , Togo will be the first country in the world with a Gospel-preaching church in every village ! photos , page 11 : OMS missionary
