Organisational Changes
The Village Market embraces a sound corporate culture that seeks to obtain and maintain a hardworking, motivated and happy human resource. This has contributed to the success of the establishment since its inception 18 years ago.
The management continues to search for talented, creative and innovative individuals capable of being team players as well as leaders in the ever-evolving service industry.
Staff empowerment
The organisation also seeks to empower existing staff by supporting their effort to pursue further education and training. This guarantees that staff can meet their educational costs and be more qualified for further roles. Such initiatives not only motivate staff but also open channels for self-actualisation, personal growth and promotions.
As The Village Market management pursues further plans for expansion this year, it has instituted various major changes in the organisation as follows:
• Betty Musyoki assumes the position of Complex Manager – a promotion from her previous assistant manager role.
• To assist Betty is Leah Munyua. Leah was formerly an assistant manager in the PR and Marketing Department. Her six-year experience in public relations, events management and marketing will be a plus in her new role.
• Ann Gitari will be filling Leah’ s shoes as Assistant Marketing Manager. Ann was formerly the Press Liaison Officer and Editor of the Village Beat magazine. She’ ll continue coordinating the magazine alongside her new role.
• Jane Ndung’ u moves from the reception and is now an administrative assistant. Her new role will see her support the Operations, Accounts and HR departments more effectively.
• Celestina Ndunda will replace Jane as the new reception. Tina, as she is popularly known, had been a housekeeping hostess prior to her promotion.
• Peter Mbugua takes on the role of supervisor in the Maintenance Department while Joseph Gumba is now a storekeeper in the same department. Joseph was formerly a driver before his reappointment.
• Benedict Nzioka joins the organisation as a technical assistant to handle the administrative aspects within the Maintenance Department.
• Nohad Keraldeen also joins the organisation as the new Head of Security. Nohad holds a wealth of knowledge and experience to avert any security risks.
The Village Market management wishes them well in their new positions.
