Auction Rules
1 . The Live Auction will begin at 7:30 PM and continue without interruption until all items have been auctioned .
2 . During the Live Auction , the auctioneer will acknowledge the bidder . If the auctioneer determines that an opening bid is not commensurate with the value of the item offered , he may reject the bid and withdraw the item from sale ; and if having acknowledged an opening bid , he decides that an advance thereafter is not of sufficient amount , he may reject the advance . The Auctioneer retains the right to announce conditions of sale at any time . In the event of any dispute , the auctioneer will have sole and final discretion in these matters .
3 . On the fall of the auctioneer ’ s hammer , title to the item and / or service will pass to the highest bidder who thereupon assumes full risk and responsibility , therefore . By their purchase , the buyer waives and releases any claims for liability for personal injuries or damages to property against , and the buyer hereby indemnifies St . Ursula Villa , the auction committee and the donors of the property or services , and all their agents and representatives , for and from all such claims . Neither St . Ursula Villa , the auction committee , nor the donor or any of their agents or representatives is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the utilization of the property or service sold .
4 . Values set forth of items being auctioned are donors ’ estimates and are not warranted by the auction committee for tax purposes or general value .
5 . ALL SALES ARE FINAL . There will be no exchange or refunds on items by the donor or by St . Ursula Villa except where specified unless the donor is unable to fulfill the obligation as described . Please do not ask the donors for exchanges or refunds .
6 . Items may be removed only by exhibiting a PAID receipt at the time of departure . All purchases must be taken home tonight except for special delivery items .
7 . Unless otherwise specified , all auction items and services must be used within one year from the date of the auction . Dates and times are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of and by and between the donor and buyer unless stated otherwise . To avoid disappointment , please make all reservations well in advance . Security and cleaning deposits , when required by the donor , must be paid directly to the donor , and are not included in your bid .
8 . USE ONLY THE PADDLE NUMBER ASSIGNED TO YOU TO BID .
9 . If you have taken advantage of the Express Checkout option in your invitation , your paid receipt will be e-mailed to you . A hard copy of your paid receipt will also be available at the checkout area . All other payment by the successful bidder should be made immediately following the item ’ s sale or at the end of the auction . Payment may be made with cash , check , Visa , MasterCard , American Express , or Discover .
PAYMENT IN FULL THIS EVENING IS MANDATORY .
