HIGHLIGHTS & HAPPENINGS
the spirit of St. Angela Merici more alive in
our school. It helps us to better understand St.
Angela’s teaching and having peers chosen for
these awards allows us to see living examples
of her messages. I was very honored to receive
this award and it makes me want to do more to
be like St. Angela.”
Our Ursuline heritage is also recognized
through song. For the last several years, Villa
Music Teacher Charlotte Loflin has created
original lyrics and music incorporating our
Ursuline school theme. This engaging music is
then integrated into school Masses and sung
with enthusiasm by Villa students. Ms. Lofin
says, “While writing the theme songs over the
last few years, my intention has been to help
the students retain St. Angela’s quotes. Hearing everyone sing them and do the
hand motions has been extremely rewarding and has inspired me to keep writing.
I’m very honored that this year’s song was chosen as the theme song for the
North American Ursuline Convocation in St. Louis!”
The Villa's Ursuline theme for the 2018-19 school year came from St. Angela's
writings to "Live in harmony, united together all of one heart and one will" and
inspired these lyrics by Villa Music Teacher Charlotte Loflin.
“Live in harmony, united together all of one heart and one will.”

Words and music by Charlotte Loflin
Let us all be thankful for all the blessings that He gives,
and know it’s through our words and deeds that the Son of God still lives.
It’s up to us to build a world where all are skilled
in understanding one other, and I believe one day we will.
So look beyond what scares you, what challenges and tears you away from love.
We gotta live in harmony, united together all of one heart …and one will.
It isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth a try
to find the things that you have in common - what you see eye to eye.
Then from there you can learn about your fellow man,
whether they read the Bible, the Torah, Bagavad Gita, or Qu’ran.
So look beyond what scares you, what challenges and tears you away from love.
We gotta live in harmony, united together all of one heart …and one will.
Everyone is searching for a life of truth and love,
And many things can lead us astray from the light of God above.
But just remember this: There is no greater bliss
than spreading the joy and love in your heart – oh, love is God’s great work of art.
