Reflections from the Villa ’ s Academic Leadership

As we reflect on the past year , we can ’ t help but remember all the marvelous things we saw from our students .
Ms . Julie Scherer , Principal
The Manor House emphasizes supporting students in developing key foundational social skills , such as cooperation , responsibility , and empathy , so that we can continue to build on those skills as they advance to the next grade levels . Throughout the year , we saw many marvelous things as our youngest students put into practice what they had learned from the safe and nurturing environment created by their teachers .
We saw our students learn to give of themselves in service to others . Although they may be small acts of kindness , our Manor House students collected items in December , such as lip balm , playing cards , and crossword puzzles , and shared them with the guests of the Marielders Senior Center , accompanied by handmade cards .
Taking turns and playing nicely with others are important lessons to learn while children are young . In the spring , our students enjoyed Field Day , where they participated in fun outdoor games and activities , such as relay races , obstacle courses , and pool noodle soccer .
Ms . Lisa Wolfer , Director of Early Childhood
“ Without doubt , you will see marvelous things ”

And we saw our students show an enthusiasm and love for learning . Students learned about the life of the butterfly and were overjoyed to watch caterpillars turn into butterflies . The students ’ excitement could not be contained when it was time to finally release their butterflies outside .
In the Main School , our teachers help our students build upon the important foundational skills learned in the Manor House . This school year was filled with many marvelous moments as our elementary and junior high students developed the skills and values which will serve them well into their futures .
Faith is at the core of our values , and we saw our students grow in their faith . Students participated in Mass at least twice a month and also visited the Chapel regularly to engage in various practices of the faith , such as praying the Rosary and participating in Adoration . We saw our students share their artistic talents with our community through music and theater . Our band and guitar classes performed a fun spring concert for parents ; the 4 th through 6 th graders performed 101 Dalmatians , Kids , and our 8 th graders shined brightly in their musical , Pirates of Penzance , Jr .
Marvelous accomplishments were made by our class of 2022 as they developed into strong leaders who are prepared with the skills and knowledge to excel in high school and beyond . The marvelous trait of caring was evident when these students led the younger students on a jungle-themed walk-a-thon to Alms Park in the fall ; organized service projects to benefit the homeless and the elderly ; and planned and oversaw our school-wide Pink Week to benefit the Karen Wellington Foundation .
Throughout the year , within each Villa student , we see marvelous things happen every day . History confirms that Villa graduates use the lifelong skills faculty and staff at our school reinforce , encouraging them to make a difference in their community . Without doubt , we are confident the class of 2022 will do many marvelous things in the future and those younger students will follow in their footsteps .
