The Columbus Centre Day Camps
launched two new programs in 2018 – the
LEGO/Be-A-Builder Camp and Magic
Camp – that quickly became big hits with
participating kids.
Other popular firsts for the program
included excursions to Ripley’s Aquarium
and a Toronto Blue Jays game, and a visit
from The Everblast Play Company. Also
newly introduced was a hot lunch menu
for every full-day camper as part of their
camp package.
Other Camp highlights included:
• The Ultimate Experience Camp, which
offers a mix of team-building
challenges, arts and crafts, cooking,
swimming and sports, continued to be
our most popular camp, especially for
7-10 year-olds.
• We advanced our relationship with
nearby Fieldstone Day School, which
supplied 10 student volunteers for our
March Break Camps.
• We had a 90% returning
counsellor rate.
• Campers dressed up their favourite
counselors for the very first Columbus
Centre Summer Camp Beauty Pageant.
• Kids in the Triple Threat Camp
performed musical numbers from
“The Wizard of Oz” and “Beauty and
the Beast.”
TESTIMONIALS
“My kids had the best time at Art Camp
this week. Reesa is a rock star. She’s a
wonderful art teacher - so creative. We
hope to return. Thanks again.”
– Donna (Parent)
“My kids LOVED camp this year! Thank
you so much for all the time you and your
staff has put in. It is greatly appreciated.”
– Tanya (Mom of two campers)
“I just wanted to say how impressed I was
with how the camp is being run. Thank
you to you and your crew for this
extremely positive experience.”
– Scott (Parent)
Here are some of the ways the Day
Camps make the experience fun for kids:
• Campers started every day together
as a camp “family,” singing one of our
favourite silly songs!
• The camp family also gathered at the
start of every afternoon session to
thank campers and staff for outstand-
ing actions and achievements in the
morning session.
