For All The Drifters And Dreamers... This new magazine is for all the drifters and dreamers that remember when you had radio stations that championed the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, Player, Andy Gibb and Patsy Gallant. My love of this era has finally made me start this publication and celebrate a rich seam of largely forgotten music and gentle AM/FM grooves from a bygone era. We know that this music is still being made and getting played on web based music stations and blogs such as West Coast Golden Radio, Soma FM and the wonderful AOR Disco. They are not only keeping this music alive, they are also helping us find great new tunes and mixing them with old classics every week. Songs that are certain to get retired dancing feet tapping again… So, on that note let me welcome you to View From The West Coast. We are an online magazine, that will feature the best new music releases and reissues, interviews and information about artists and bands, from both the past to the present and getting you to look that little bit deeper into your old vinyl collection or plunder youtube to listen to some of the long forgotten gems that we are so passionate about. We’ll also be giving you links to some great music via our guests playlist page and this month we are delighted to have Mark ‘Good Vibes’ Taylor bringing us the background for for his chosen tracks, which you can find on our Facebook page. And every issue will have an exclusive podcast included, with a special ‘View From The West Coast’ radio show presented by legendary smooth grooves and fusion flavours DJ, Steve Quirk. …………………………. So, as we take that L.A. flight home, we are just going to close our eyes and dream of breezing along that stretch of the pacific coast highway in our open top convertible, as we watch the sun dip down across the bay and reflect on paradise. And it’s here you’ll find our staring point...Enjoy! Nick Mawson {Editor} 02 | View From The West Coast | Edition 1 | Oct 2015
