» Dr. Brigitte Timmermann, is a historian and a bottomless trove of
knowledge about Vienna Modernism and design. She specializes
in the culture of Central Europe during the last years of the Austro-
Hungarian Empire. Writer, broadcaster and lecturer, she graduated
from the University of Vienna and was among the first in the city to
offer themed walking seminars to complement the more general bus tours, thus
allowing visitors to enjoy lesser known sights. She is also internationally recognized
as the leading Vienna-based authority on the celebrated Graham Greene/Carol Reed
classic, The Third Man, the iconic Vienna movie shot in the war-torn city in 1948.
