Few communities enjoy the assets that we do. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Engineer Research and Development Center( ERDC), the Mississippi Center for Innovation & Technology( MCITy), Hinds Community College, ERDCWERX, and the Economic Development Partnership— together with other local and regional institutions
— are bridging research and commerce, connecting ERDC, universities, and entrepreneurs to spark new ideas and high-tech jobs. These collaborations between education, industry, and local enterprise are not just opportunities; they are the foundation of our long-term success. Major projects such as the Vicksburg Advanced Power Plant and transformative initiatives like the new Port of Vicksburg on Highway 61 South are setting the stage for another wave of industrial growth— positioning us to compete, and win, at the highest level.
