THE CHANGING TALENT PIPELINE
A key component of workforce development is awareness and understanding of the current and upcoming available workforce – the talent pipeline – and its needs and interests .
Census demographic projections indicate that by 2030 ,
 population growth will slow , and people will age considerably , with one in every five Americans being older than 65 . Plus , the population will continue to become more racially and ethnically diverse . Today , 58 different languages are spoken in the homes of students in our local school districts and our census demographics reflect this .
We have common goals and interests with other programs and partners in the Northeast Metro area , including Partners for Good and the Minnesota Career Development Association ( MCDA ). This year , we teamed up in four different sessions with different groups and it was a success ! Shared programming broadens our outreach on subjects that are of mutual interest and benefit .
Another reason for partnering is the time and cost to put programs together and market them . We strive to keep costs to a minimum for our members and guests . We are grateful to local area businesses that provide us with free event space . We do have some limited opportunities to fund programming with grants available through our partnerships and we will continue to explore additional options .

Plus , the more diverse and inclusive our organizations are , the more customers our products and service will reach .
