NORTHEAST METRO YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM IN ITS 7TH YEAR
When it comes time to embark on their careers , young professionals in the Northeast Metro are fortunate to have access to the Northeast Metro Young Professionals ( NMYP ) program . Started up in 2017 and sponsored by VHEDC , NMYP focuses on cultivating leadership skills , and helping participants gain a strong understanding of and connection to the community . It serves several cities in the north metro and has also
attracted participants from around the metro area .
2023 marks the 7th consecutive year for the program , which has been run by Nancy Hoglund , owner and President of Hoglund Coaching , since the beginning . She serves as both the program leader and leadership coach for participants . Several of Hoglund ’ s regular business clients , including Fresh Paint , Inc ., have sent younger employees to participate in the program . Mike Vowels , a 2020 Cohort participant , is now VP of Sales . Mike registered his new Sales / Estimator , Joe Raymond , to join the 2023 Cohort .
For 2023 , there will be close to 20 program participants , who were nominated by the companies for which they work . Now that we ’ re coming out of the pandemic , Hoglund says the monthly networking events they used to do that involve both past and present program participants have resumed .
