VHEDC ’ S ANNUAL BUSINESS AWARDS RECOGNIZE BUSINESSES DEDICATED TO BUILDING COMMUNITY
Every year at its annual dinner , VHEDC recognizes local businesses that go above and beyond to serve the community . The 2022 dinner was held on September 15 at Jimmy ’ s Event Center in Vadnais Heights .
The awards given out included The Keith Warner Standard of Excellence Award , The VHEDC Business Excellence Award and The VHEDC Community Partnership Award .
The Keith Warner Standard of Excellence Award
Named in honor of a former director of the VHEDC , the Keith Warner Standard of Excellence Award is given to a business that has shown a singular degree of excellence in the areas of business success , philanthropy and community service . The 2022 winner is Hoglund Coaching President Nancy Hoglund , who is a national leadership coach and strategic consultant . She works with senior leaders , boards and leadership teams . She also does organization-wide and community development work .
As a collaborative partner , Hoglund continues to help the VHEDC advance its mission of ensuring a thriving local business economy in the northeast metro area by starting and facilitating the North Metro Young Professionals ( NMYP ) and working with VHEDC to ensure its strategic mission is intact .
Hoglund Coaching has offered time and talent to VHEDC regularly throughout the years . Nancy Hoglund has been an asset to VHEDC and the local business community by offering personal and professional coaching to so many young professionals . In its 7th year , NMYP is going strong and has an impeccable reputation for guiding and grooming our future leaders .
She has also helped out VHEDC with its strategic planning and led Board retreats ; and she does a lot of pro bono work for local nonprofits . “ Giving back is extremely important to me ,” said Hoglund , who has been working as an independent consultant since 2007 .
At the awards dinner , it was very apparent how impactful her work has been . Several of her clients were in the room at the time , and so were a lot of young professionals whose careers she has impacted .
“ When I went up on the stage , three of the young professionals who were at the dinner jumped up , and came up on stage with me . They saw that they were a part of it so they just went with me . That just meant the world to me . Plus , I got a standing ovation . It feels so fantastic to have won this award ,” said Hoglund . vhedc . com 45
