City Hall . The Lions Club also sponsors two waffle breakfasts each year , and participates in Heritage Days activities , serving at the August Senior Picnic and the two winter Senior Lunches in January and February . The Vadnais Heights Lions Club and Foundation also support the City of Vadnais Heights in other events throughout the year .
Each September , The Lions Club Foundation hosts its annual golf tournament and in December a holiday toy and food drive . This undertaking provides food and toys for families in our area , and brightens the holidays for many citizens of Vadnais Heights . Members also ring bells at Walmart the first Friday and Saturday in December , raising money for the Salvation Army .
The Lions Club Foundation ’ s longest running activity is its Vadnais Heights Community Food Program , also referred to as the Food Shelf , which operates at Vadnais Heights Commons ( 655 East County Road F ) on the third Saturday of each month from 9 a . m . to 10 a . m . Each month , food is provided for those suffering food insecurity in our community .
The Lions Club Foundation partners with the VHACF in supporting the Food Shelf . The two organizations also partner on a $ 1,000 scholarship program for graduating seniors at three local high schools : White Bear Lake Area High School , Mounds View High School and AFSA , the Agriculture and Science Academy in Vadnais Heights .
