Tour starts today - Changing Direction"". Original: Therese Lindstrom for TT Spektra Nyhetsbyrån [Translated to the best of our knowledge] Veronica has a large number of beloved hit songs under her belt when she embarks on her autumn tour. But when she goes into the studio to begin working on her fifth album, the music may take a new direction. "I am a person who likes to go on, I'm not so nostalgic", she says. She got into bed at two o'clock and went up three hours later. The days before the Veronicas tour premiere are intense. The singer apologizes for being "a wreck" when she sits down at a café on Södermalm in Stockholm. She picks up a mirror and improves her make up rapidly. Today Veronica Maggio and her five-piece will start a two-month tour with a concert in Linköping. Anyone who saw Veronica Maggio this summer can expect something new. "It will be more intimate and messier, a bit more stripped down too... somehow. More suited to the sweaty club format”, she says. Wet night in Berlin A new song will be also in the repertoire. In addition to tracks from the latest album " Handen i fickan fast jag bryr mig " and the occasional older favorites Veronica will perform her brand new " Storma tills vi dör" (Storm - Until We Die). "The title was born during a drunken night out in Berlin with three buddies. We came up with the brilliant idea that we should tattoo "Storm until we die "on our forearms somewhere around 3 in the night. But thankfully we did not, the day after that we came up with better ideas. But then I thought it was a fun song title", singer says with a laugh. "It feels great to have something new." So between the tours, the summer concerts and the fall tour, she had the time to write new music. How does it work? "I write a little all the time. Either by myself or with people. But after the fall tour I will focus on writing. For this fall, I will probably not be able to so much", she says. Out with the old In the spring she will step out and work on new material. Which direction it takes this time she does not know yet. But it will be different from the last. Just like it will be always. "If something has gone well I do not feel that I need to do something like that again, but rather that I want to be away from it as I did. It tends to be that I was peeling off the layers that I think feels unnecessary musically. This I have done and I am not able to do it again. Hopefully it pops up some kind of clue about what I will do instead", she says. 20 cities It is clear that she will continue to write and sing in Swedish. This despite the fact that her career started to take off in Finland, where she will also give two concerts during the tour: "I think it would be difficult to translate everything into English and get the same feeling, because I write so much about my own life, it would not be as authentic." But at first there are gigs in 20 cities waiting in line, this time in smaller scenes. The giant balloon hands featured as a stage design this summer will stay home. "We've thought for a bit when it comes to stage clothes and - lightning. But when I go to the club gigs, it is rarely a hundred costume changes and pyrotechnics. It is a different feeling you want to transmit", she says. 10 14
