T
hough their love story did not begin in the Green
Mountain State, East Montpelier locals Jamie and
Andrew Frey chose to pay tribute to their new home
state as the theme of their big day. The couple’s Vermont-
themed wedding was set in the state capital in August and
gave guests an authentic taste of Vermont life.
Their marriage celebration featured staple Vermont
products, with Ben and Jerry’s ice cream served as dessert,
maple syrup favors for guests, plaid socks worn by the
groom, local vendors and authentic post-ceremony creemees.
“You can’t get more Vermont than that, right?” joked the
bride.
Having originally met and briefly lived in Easton, PA
before moving to Vermont in August of 2014, the pair got
engaged exactly four years to the day after they first met. It
was only fitting that Andrew pops the question in front of
one of their favorite Vermont landmarks, proposing to Jamie
at the Capitol building in Montpelier with a hand-engraved
blue sapphire ring.
