Winhall Christmas Bird Count
Local birders and nature enthusiasts are invited to join the Winhall area annual Christmas Bird Count ( CBC ) on December 21 . Participants may count from early AM to dusk covering many miles or survey an hour or two in a small neighborhood area or just check on their feeder activity from their home . The Winhall 15 mi diameter count circle has the center in Winhall north of Gale Meadows . The west border is Manchester Depot , north is just south of Weston village ; east is at the edge of Windham village and the south border is almost to Jamaica encompassing the villages of Peru , Landgrove , Londonderry , S . Londonderry , Bondville , and Rawsonville as well as Stratton , Bromley , and Magic Ski areas . Many counters are needed to cover this circle . Festival of Tiny Trees
The Dollhouse and Toy Museum of Vermont is once again staging its annual holiday “ Festival of Tiny Trees ” with more than 200 decorated miniature trees , many of them lighted . Many of the trees have been created by local artists . For those wanting to decorate their own dollhouses for the holidays , some of the miniature trees will be for sale . The Museum is located at 212 Union Street in Bennington and is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm . It will be closed on Christmas Day , but will be open from 1pm to 4pm daily from December 26 through New Year ’ s Eve .
