Among the many features in this issue of Vermont Magazine is an interview with cartoonist Harry Bliss of The New Yorker fame.

Harry previously lived in Burlington and now lives just over the border in Cornish, New Hampshire. Readers might remember that we previously featured Harry’ s friend( and fellow New Yorker cartoonist), the late Ed Koren, who also lived in Vermont.
An iconic cover from The New Yorker( by Mark Ulriksen) showcases Manhattan as the center of the universe, but with all due respect to Mr. Ulriksen, it has been my experience that Vermont is, actually, the center of it all.
In fact, in this issue, we also feature Oscar-nominated screenwriter and actress Renée Taylor, who recently shared that whenever she and her late husband, actor Joseph Bologna, needed to feel inspired and write … they would come to Vermont.
And what’ s not to love?

From the Desk of Joshua Sherman, M. D.

Vermont is known for its amazing outdoor recreation( see page 56); it’ s natural products( see page 28); its excellence in hospitality( see page 6); its community organizations( see page 64); and its incredible— and often unexpected— history( see page 46).
