Bergeron echoes this sentiment , highlighting the central role that credit unions play in fostering economic growth and community resilience . “ Credit unions have always supported the economic growth and recovery of local communities here in Vermont ,” says Bergeron . “ As a lifelong Vermont resident , I feel compelled to do what I can to help our communities stick together and overcome this adversity .” The collaborative efforts of Dig Deep Vermont have garnered widespread support from a diverse array of partners , including the Vermont Agriculture , Food and Markets Agency ; Vermont Farm Bureau ; Vermont Association of Broadcasters ; Farm Credit East ; and Farrell Distributors , among others . Through strategic partnerships and grassroots outreach , Dig Deep Vermont aims to ensure that no independent Vermont farm is left behind . “ Our members recognize the importance of our family farms here in Vermont ,” says Mahar . “ We ’ re leveraging our platforms to make a difference .”
As central hubs within Vermont ’ s tourism landscape , ski areas play a crucial part in promoting Dig Deep Vermont and rallying support for local farmers . With their extensive reach and community engagement , ski areas have emerged as powerful allies in the campaign ’ s mission to provide relief to those affected by natural disasters . As President of Ski Vermont / The Vermont Ski Areas Association , Mahar highlights the proactive efforts of ski areas in spreading awareness about Dig Deep Vermont : “ Our ski areas have been instrumental in promoting the initiative . From on-site signage to social media campaigns , they ’ ve utilized various platforms to engage their guests and encourage donations .” Mahar believes ski areas can serve as powerful platforms for critical community outreach .
“ Ski areas are more than just destinations for winter sports enthusiasts . They are integral parts of their local communities , and their support can make a significant impact in raising awareness and driving donations .” Looking ahead , Mahar envisions potential events and partnerships to further elevate Dig Deep Vermont ’ s mission . “ As the weather gets warmer and we head into the summer months , we ’ ll be exploring opportunities for events and collaborations ,” Mahar states . “ Our goal is to continue spreading awareness and rallying support for Vermont ’ s family farmers .”
Roberta MacDonald , former Senior Vice President of Cabot Creamery Cooperative , is grateful for the collaborative efforts of the stakeholders who have driven the initiative forward . Drawing on her extensive experience working with farmers and agricultural industry leaders in Vermont , MacDonald underscores the critical role played by Dig Deep Vermont ’ s partner institutions in addressing the challenges faced by Vermont ’ s agricultural community : “ The formation of Dig Deep Vermont was made possible through the dedication of incredible individuals who have worked tirelessly to support our farmers . It ’ s a collaborative effort that extends beyond individual contributions to benefit all farmers in Vermont .”
MacDonald praises the efforts of partners such as Farrell Distributing and Farm Credit East , who have provided essential support for Dig Deep Vermont . “ Farrell Distributing ’ s involvement provided financial support and also facilitated outreach and promotion efforts through their extensive network ,” MacDonald explains . “ They dropped off promotional fliers at many of the shops they delivered to , which gave Dig Deep Vermont a real community presence .” Similarly , Farm Credit East played a pivotal role in enabling various initiatives , from website design to promotional materials .
The collaboration between institutional partners and grassroots organizations has been instrumental in amplifying Dig Deep Vermont ’ s message and mobilizing support from all communities within the Green Mountain State . “ This initiative embodies Vermont ’ s scrappy and resilient cooperative spirit ,” says MacDonald . MacDonald emphasizes the importance of raising awareness among Vermont ’ s visitors and homeowners , urging them to contribute to the cause . “ For those who may not fully grasp the gravity of the situation , it ’ s essential to highlight the ongoing challenges faced by farmers .
