Weston Village Green
Weston ’ s scenic village green came into existence through a remarkable sequence of events . In the late-19th century , the site of the green was occupied by Weston resident Oliver Farrar ’ s frog pond . Nine women banded together in 1886 to convert the pond into a public park for the town . Working together , they formed the Farrar Park Association , earning incorporation through an Act of the Vermont State Legislature . To this day , the park remains owned independently by a corporation of trustees , who are to maintain its tranquil beauty thanks to a yearly contribution from the town of Weston and voluntary donations . In the center of the Green , a nostalgic bandstand hearkens back to simpler times , inviting visitors to relax in contemplative beauty while strolling by .
