Ann Clark ’ s Sugar Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
2 sticks ( 1 cup ) unsalted butter , softened 2 / 3 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg , room temperature 1½ teaspoon vanilla extract 3 cups ( 12¾ ounces ) all-purpose flour ½ teaspoon table salt
Equipment Needed
Stand mixer or electric mixer Rolling pin Parchment Paper
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350 ° F . Prepare 4-large rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper .
Beat butter and sugar in stand mixer with paddle attachment or electric mixer , until just lightened , about 3 minutes .
Add egg and vanilla , scraping as needed , until combined , about 1 minute .
Mix flour and salt into the mixer , until just combined .
Chill dough 2 hours to overnight .
Roll out on a lightly floured counter to 1 / 4 ” thick and cut with your favorite Ann Clark cookie cutters , then transfer the prepared pans .
