Beaudry is currently working towards implementing these curricula in her local community in Northern Vermont , and she looks forward to collaborating with teachers , students , and community members . Her educational initiatives build upon VCBS ’ ongoing efforts to collaborate with youth mentorship organizations such as 4-H , Boy Scouts of America , and Girl Scouts of the USA . “ We welcome young participants and youth clubs from around Vermont who want to join the VCBS ‘ Junior Bridger ’ program and get involved ,” shares Brown-Limmer . William McKone adds : “ We encourage people to become VCBS members to join in the cause of helping to preserve Vermont ’ s covered bridges . We also recommend Vermont residents with covered bridges in their towns or local areas to join community bridge watch groups . It makes a significant difference in the upkeep of these historic covered bridges .”
As the VCBS forges ahead , their passion for preserving these historic landmarks remains as bright and vibrant as the red paint on the remarkable Chiselville Covered Bridge in Sunderland .
