The Vermont Covered Bridge Society preserves treasured monuments of Vermont ’ s cultural heritage

Throughout Vermont ’ s picturesque valleys , fields , and mountain passes , covered bridges stand as enchanting symbols of the state ’ s cultural heritage . They evoke a sense of heartwarming nostalgia , inviting curious passersby to revel in beautiful manifestations of Vermont ’ s industrious and resourceful spirit . Spanning rivers , streams , and time itself , these bridges serve as hallowed monuments that attract and delight both lifelong residents and visiting vacationers . Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Vermont Covered Bridge Society ( VCBS ), many of these beloved , iconic covered bridges have been preserved and maintained for future generations . Through their collaborative advocacy , strong working relationships with town councils and state government agencies , and community initiatives , VCBS works diligently to ensure that Vermont ’ s covered bridges receive the care , maintenance , and cultural respect that they truly deserve .
