Daniel T. Monte
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in
1978, Elizabeth Catlin, 37, died Dec. 27,
2015. After growing up in Montpelier, she
attended the University of Puget Sound in
Washington. She attended Vermont Law
School, where her focus was on environmental law; she graduated summa cum
laude and first in her class in 2008. She
worked as clerk for Supreme Court Justice Brian Burgess before joining the firm
of Dunkile Saunders Elliott Raubvogel &
Hand in 2009. She is survived by her mother and father, a sister and a brother and
their spouses, and a niece.
Robert J. Grenier of Burlington died on
December 9, 2015 at the age of 69. Born in
Holyoke, Massachusetts, he held degrees
from the College of the Holy Cross and McGill University. He served in the US Army in
Vietnam and Germany. A true Francophile,
Mr. Grenier travelled frequently in France
with his wife Suzanne and spoke French like
a Frenchman. He was a long-time member
of the Vermont Bar Association and served
for many years as chair of the International
Law Section of the Bar. He is survived by his
wife and his sister.
Born May 28, 1941, in Burlington, Daniel
Thomas Monte, 74, of Barre, died February
10, 2016. After graduating from the University of Vermont, he obtained his law degree
at the University of Tulsa and joined the bar
in 1966. After military service in Vietnam he
joined the family law firm, Monte & Monte,
where he practiced for forty-four years. He
was active in church and community organizations and was a member of the Vermont
Bar Association, the Washington County
Bar, and the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association. He is survived by two daughters,
two sons, and their spouses, five grandchildren, a brother- and sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
