JEB: All of the things that Vermont has to offer. That’s good. I went this past week- end and it almost amazes me that this time of year is almost as pretty as fall, because there are so many different greens and the moss in the woods is bright green. It’s so colorful. Do you have anything else, I mean it sounds like, this is inspiring for our read- ers and I think it is fun to read what we’ve covered. I know that you have a plug in for CJ’s on Friday? MK: Yes. JEB: So they can check you out on Face- book Low Country Funk, is that where they would find you? MK: We are definitely on Facebook al- though, again we only really have some acoustic music on there, so in terms of wanting a show, if you want to be enter- tained and you want to have some fun, and you want to dance, come and see us live! It’s a very, very different show than what you are going to see on a Facebook vid- eo, but we are there and we will try to get some other videos up, it’s just hard to catch them. JEB: Right. MK: People are there to have fun, not to be recorded. We are there to have fun. JEB: Right. MK: We are not there to make a profes- sional music video, although that would be fun, and if somebody wants to volunteer to do that, come on out. JEB: And you definitely might be avail- able since you suggested the battle of the bands. This is something we should do for one of our future conferences? MK: I am definitely down for a battle of the bands, so I will challenge other musi- cians in our state if they have a band and they are carrying on a practice of law at the very same time, let’s do this. That is ideal. says, ‘well I don’t like country music; this is not my thing,’ and then they come out and the remarks afterwards go something like ‘I hate country music but I really like you guys.’ JEB: Well, there you go. MK: So come give it a try and by the way, if you don’t like what we do, ok, great, go see another band. I am fine with it, because, there is sort of a level of acceptance; everybody doesn’t have to love what I do. I love what I do, and it’s really fun! I will put in a last plug that we have so many extremely talented mus icians in this area that are playing out and people don’t go. Go out and support local music, support the people who love what they are doing and if you find a band that you like, promote them, go and see them, bring your friends, do something to help with their own creativity, because it is an outlet. and in the summertime, we spend a lot of time up at Bomoseen and on the water, fishing and hiking. JEB: And dancing is a huge stress reliev- er. MK: Yes it’s a HUGE stress reliever, and let me tell you, people dance all night long. I dance all night long when I am perform- ing; it’s just really that fun. JEB: Excellent! We all could use a little stress relief; that is part of the purpose of the column. MK: You lawyers who are working until 3am, come on out. JEB: Definitely. I think we have good stuff here. Thanks so much for doing this. MK: Thank you for coming. Sound off! ____________________ Do you want to nominate yourself or a fellow VBA member to be interviewed for Pursuits of Happiness? Email me at jeb@ vtbar.org. JEB: Well alright, so it’s out there, the gauntlet has been thrown! MK: Bring it on. JEB: She is ready for the battle of the bands. I think we will have to arrange something like that and I will have to come despite country music not being my favor- ite thing, but I will have to come and check you out. MK: Right. I am going to throw this in here because one of the very best com- pliments that we have received time and time again is someone just like you that www.vtbar.org THE VERMONT BAR JOURNAL • SUMMER 2017 13
